How can social media work for, and grow, a cleaning business? Imagine scrolling through Facebook posts, looking at all the great food, kids and travel photos. Then, a cleaning business post pops up – a before and after photo of a bathroom that was cleaned. Sure, the cleaning team did a great job :) But, given the enormous amount of competition for someone's attention, let's face it. It is not compelling enough to stop someone from just scrolling right past it. (Honestly, who CARES about the before and after shots... if you're a cleaner, then you clean right?).... And THAT, is the whole point of the social media post – to get people to notice the company, take the time to read about its endeavours and interact with the business. In this article, our very own Director of Sales & Marketing for Cleancorp, Lisa Macqueen, shares her social media strategies for cleaning business success with Canada's Facility Cleaning and Maintenance Magazine.

Sydney, AU - In a last ditch effort to appear more honest following the banking royal commission, employees at one of Australia’s top banks have finally settled in to newer and smaller offices... Although they’ve only been at their swanky new offices for a month, the only toilet in the executive office suite has already been clogged 4 times. “I’m not going to name names" said high flying senior employee and banker Ted, “but the time has come to leave a passive aggressive note for the pig involved - I mean, honestly, this person needs to go and see a doctor - he's in there twice a day for at least 20 minutes, and afterwards, it looks like a public toilet in Afghanistan. The long suffering office cleaners have already gone through 2 plungers, so now they’re just using a broomstick with a suction cup attached at the end of it to unclog the toilet. “Maybe it isn’t one person’s fault and it’s just a crook toilet” said James, the under-suspicion staffer... Management are now looking at "Royal Commission Friendly" ideas to deny staffers use of bathrooms in an effort to stamp out the behaviour.. More news to follow..

More and more companies understand that the workplace needn’t be sterile or devoid of happiness. Indeed, nap rooms, ping-pong tables and chair massages, are becoming very common in offices all over Australia. One of the most popular perks that a company can offer is allowing their employees to bring their dogs to work. Studies have shown that when workers bring their pups to the office, overall productivity increases by 28%. Hidden in the bylaws of the company charter was an arcane clause that “prohibits dogs or any other manner of animal from entering the premises….” “I was as shocked as anyone when I heard about this,” sighed Simon Detweiler, company CEO. “Taking one’s dog to work apparently runs afoul of company policy. So, if my receptionist Allison brought her dachshund into the office, I would be
